Built for quick access to the CAT Tourniquet, this pouch by Tasmanian Tiger is minimalistic yet does what it’s built to do.

Design:

The TT Pouch by Tasmanian Tiger is built open yet secure. It’s about 14 cm high and 6cm wide. At the bottom there’s a deep slot to insert the tourniquet in, while at the top, there’s a velcro fastened strap to keep the top in place. The strap includes a red flap on top for visibility and recognition. The back of the pouch is built stiffly to resist bending and possible snapping of the TQ .The bottom of the pouch is reinforced to allow for friction with no fear of tearing. On the back, there’s a thick strap for molle held in place by a snap button. I’m personally not a big fan of snap buttons since they loosen too quickly for my taste and tend to rip fast. They also tend to twist which in turn leads to accidental opening of said buttons.

Material:

The pouch is made out of tough 700D Cordura and is built to last. Weighing in at about 80g, it’s weight is negligible, even with a TQ.

Comfort:

Because of its sheer size, the TQ pouch wouldn’t be comfortably anywhere but on a plate carrier and/or a war belt seeing as you’ll want the full length of it to be accommodated by Molle so as to avoid it hindering your movement.

Storage:

The TQ sits in the pouch very snugly, and is definitely not going anywhere until you’re ready to use it. That being said, it’s only attachable to Molle and while there are some kind of belt loops or horizontal molle straps in the back, they are very very tight and it’s nearly impossible to put anything through.

Versatility:

This pouch is clearly designed for a singular purpose. It is designed to fit the standard CAT Tourniquet and absolutely nothing else, not even other versions, so don’t even try.

Price:

Running at about €10 or $11, this tourniquet pouch is an absolute steal for the great quality it offers.

You definitely can’t go wrong with this pouch. It offers excellent quality and an unbeatable price point. Add to that the fact that it’s a sturdy pouch that will serve you well in times of need. Worth a try!
