Savvy Sniper, a homegrown small custom sling business has been producing slings way ahead of its time since before 2010. While many of its competitors have been trying to catch on and imitate their patented technology and ideas in the past, Savvy Sniper Slings are still among the leading companies in the world. The QUAD (Quick Universal Adjustable Deployment)HK is one of its signature slings.
Design:
Handmade entirely of Mil. Spec. Nylon, the design on this Savvy Sniper Sling is incredible. The version we have is the Quad HK version that is fully ambidextrous and gives you basically every feature you’d want from a sling without needless complications. The sling is both a dual and single-point sling (more about the transition later). On each end of the sling, you have very high quality HK Snap-hooks that are rated for up to 850 pounds. In the center of the sling you have a bungee cord that incorporates 1 inch tubular webbing which, is extremely durable which helps with the sling being more comfortable when carrying for extended periods of time. At the top of the sling you have a snap-hook plate to attach the front snap-hook to turn the sling into a single-point from a dual-point. Connecting to the snap-hook plate is simple and can be done within a second, especially with practice. When in single-point, you can release the rifle completely by opening the IBW Nexus buckle right below the snap-hook plate when you need to let go of your weapon for some reason, or handing it to someone else. What makes this sling so special is the Quick Adjustment Slider Handle (dubbed tr-glide). With one smooth pull or push of the tab, you can cinch it closer and tight to your body, as well as loosen it completely. This works great both for when you’re walking around and don’t need your rifle but especially shines when shooting. Because of the possibility to tighten, it can help you stabilize your shooting and get off smoother and crisp shots as it will hold that rifle tight in your shoulder making it much easier to manipulate, even when using a heavy rifle (such as the SCAR for example). The Quick Adjustment Handle is a thick round tab that is very easy to manipulate, even with gloves. In addition, the transition is super smooth and requires no effort whatsoever. The Quick Adjustment system is still probably the best on the market today and miles ahead of the competition.
“Used this sling and have kept using this sling in active duty, reserve duty as well as in the private sector as an instructor in long-range precision/carbine courses, in all types of tactical environments including Urban Combat -Master Sergeant G.”
Material:
First off, the sling is entirely handmade, and only using Mil. Spec. materials. The nylon is very high quality and everything is triple stitched to the highest quality standards, All the buckles are rated to be able to rappel with, so they’ll hold any weight you’d put on them. After more than 5 years of use, this sling still looks like new which is unbelievable seeing as it was put through the worst conditions the military and private sector have to offer, Even the metal buckles themselves have retained almost their entire black anodized layer with barely any of it scratched off. The quality of this sling is beyond anything we’ve ever seen on the market for slings today. Colors available are black, olive drab green (od), foliage, coyote, pink & white.
Comfort:
While not padded, this sling is really comfortable to carry, even when wearing heavy rifles for extended periods of time. The materials don’t feel course, nor are there any sharp or unfinished edges that could cause unwanted friction or irritation. It is relatively slim though, so if you’re a fan of wider straps, you can order those too, Savvy offers all the options. They do make their slings by size though and not one-size-fits-all. Keep that in mind as you will want to order one that fits you perfectly based on your measurements.
Storage:
While this Sling might feel bulkier than some, it weighs just a tad more, and is about the same size when rolled up, maybe a little bigger. There is no small pouch on the sling for earpieces or ear protection.
Versatility:
This sling specifically can be used comfortably with nearly every single weapon possible. In addition, keep in mind that Savvy Sniper Slings are offered completely customizable and can be purchased with every single variation that comes to mind. Do you prefer QD instead of snap-hooks? You got it. Do you prefer a Cobra Buckle over the ITW Nexus? They’ve got you covered. Because this is a small custom-made business, they’ll accommodate nearly any demand you have. They come in left right or ambi. This has been a huge hit for use with the Tavor, in fact, they’re featured as the go-to sling by IWI.
“The sling performed outstanding in terms of stability during our combat roles with heavy DMR’s and during our long range precision courses in the Military/LEO/Private sector. -Master Sergeant G.”
Price:
The Slings by Savvy Sniper run anywhere between $30 to $180. It’s literally impossible to write down a specific price, as the amount of customization and price variations available are too numerous to mention. Either way, these slings are worth every penny for the end-product you’re receiving.
In conclusion, this sling was made by operators for operators. There’s no other sling like it on the market and the tension loop that is offered by Savvy Sniper is unmatched in the world today! True operators go to Savvy Sniper to get their slings because they know how fantastic they are, even without the extensive publicity. The quality speaks for itself. The Savvy Sniper slings are probably the best slings available on the market today. Our team is so impressed by this company, its quality and their superior customer service that these are one of our go-to slings.
